This course provides an overview of the main applications in the Microsoft Office suite. The course begins with an understanding of the features that are common to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access applications such as creating, opening, closing, printing, and saving a document. The course continues by surveying Microsoft Word tools used to organize the layout of a Word document such as paragraph, text alignment, and bulleted and numbered list; Microsoft Excel tools used to organize data, sort and filter data, and use basic formulas and functions; Microsoft PowerPoint tools used to create effective presentations such as slides creation, formatting, animations, and transitions; and Microsoft Access tools used to store large amounts of information and access it in an efficient way. The course concludes by describing Microsoft Office collaboration tools and different media such as email, network storage, or cloud storage used to share documents.
The course provides foundational exposure to core objectives of the IC3 GS5 Key Applications exam.
